A single act is not a pattern, so you can’t object under Rule 404.
I would say, "I object to evidence of an unrelated prior event under Rule 403. The probative value is low because there has been no foundation showing substantial similarity of conditions or any connection to the event being litigated today, and the risk of confusing the issues is high."
Just because we are discussing character evidence in class does not mean that you should forget the rules of evidence we covered earlier. When asked to think of an objection, do not limit yourself to the particular rule that is the subject of today's class.
