This course offers an overview of the American legal system and is designed for foreign law students in the LLM and MCL programs. Principal topics include the common law system and associated legal and argumentative techniques, American federalism and constitutional law, the structure of the American court and legal system, and the role and regulation of lawyers in the American political system.
