Biography
Before coming to Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Janet Hein spent 13 years as director and assistant dean of admissions and financial aid at the University of Dayton School of Law. She was responsible for recruiting and admitting each year's entering class, awarding scholarships to the entire student body, and creating and publishing all material relevant to the admissions process, including print publications and the admissions website. While in Dayton, Hein served as the Midwest Association of Law School Advisors (MALSA) representative on the Midwest Association of Pre-Law Advisors (MAPLA) board of directors. She has also served on various committees with the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC), and is a past member of the Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors (NAPLA). Prior to her position at the University of Dayton School of Law, Hein was an administrator and assistant director of admissions at the University of Minnesota Law School for 16 years.
Hein received her bachelor's degree in dance and fine Arts from St. Olaf College, where she was a teaching assistant, a choreographer for campus productions, and a member of the St. Olaf Dance Company. She also taught dance and theater in Chicago and Northfield, MN as part of her degree.
