Student Animal Legal Defense Fund

The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund was established at IU Maurer School of Law in 2010 to provide a forum for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at improving the lives of animals and advancing their interests through the legal system. Our goal is also to raise the profile of animal law as a vibrant and growing legal discipline.

All students are welcome to join us in our cause.  For further information or questions, please feel free to contact one of our officers:

  • Samantha von Ende (svonende@indiana.edu), President
  • Michael Deschenes, Internal Vice President
  • William McCarthy, Vice President of Publicity and Outreach
  • Jenelle Murling, Treasurer
  • Becky Broyle, Historian

The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund works closely with the Animal Legal Defense Fund. To find out more about the Animal Legal Defense Fund please visit http://aldf.org/.
