Using Our RSS News and Podcast Feed

"Really Simple Syndication" is a lot like having your newspaper delivered to your door. We'll explain.

What is "Really Simple Syndication?"

You've probably seen the orange graphic on many Web pages lately. It might read "RSS," "Feed" or even "XML." Those acronyms all mean that the Web site offers its information as an RSS feed. If you like the site, you can subscribe to and read its feed with a feed reader (or "aggregator").

The job of your feed reader is to deliver the Web you like to your computer by showing you the latest information—news, articles, blogs, music—from your feeds. Read, filter, and sort that information at your convenience.

You've got many choices.

What About Podcasts?

If we include an audio recording with our news, your feed reader will offer to download that to your computer or a portable device. You can listen to the recording when you want to. Or share the recording. If you use an Apple iPod, you can use iTunes to manage your podcasts on your iPod. On the iTunes Advanced menu, choose Subscribe to Podcasts. You will be asked for a feed address. Copy our feed's address into the window. iTunes will examine our feed, adding any audio recordings it finds to your iTunes library.
