Catherine Dyar comes to the Law School from a judicial clerkship with Magistrate Judge Geraldine Soat Brown on the Northern District of Illinois. Previously, Ms. Dyar clerked for Judge Matthew F. Kennelly on the Northern District of Illinois, and worked as a litigation associate at Jenner & Block in Chicago. Ms. Dyar's practice at Jenner & Block focused on complex commercial matters including breach of fiduciary duty, trade secrets disputes, and employment contract disputes. Ms. Dyar's pro bono accomplishments include a successful petition for a Mexican immigrant under the Violence Against Women Act and a successful political asylum claim for a Mauritanian immigrant. In law school, Catherine was a member of the National Moot Court team and co-chair of the Public Interest Law Foundation.
