A law degree offers nearly limitless employment options that include jobs in private practice, government, public interest, judicial clerkships, corporations, graduate study or fellowships, teaching, administration and library or information science—or alternative careers that may seem to have nothing to do with your law degree.
Your goal is to leverage information about which jobs are available through resources at the Law School and your personal contacts. A good resume and cover letter are crucial to your successful job search, and the time you devote to perfecting your resume and cover letters will be rewarded. Craft a resume using our resume guide, listed below, and arrange an appointment to have your resume reviewed by our staff. You can even schedule a mock interview to practice your interviewing skills and receive feedback. Your early preparation may be the key to your post-graduate success.
You should use a variety of resources to help with your job search. The lists we provide are meant only to provide a point of departure. Remember, networking should continue to be a major part of your job search process as well.
