Biography
Maarten Bout has a decade and a half of experience in marketing and fundraising. Catalyzing engagement, encouraging involvement, and inspiring giving of alumni and friends of the Maurer School of Law are key components of his responsibilities. His role at Maurer involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding alumni and friends of the school to optimally support its programs, centers, and areas of interest. He joins the Maurer School of Law from the IU Foundation, where he was graduate assistant to the vice president for development, Bloomington, as well as from IndyBaroque Music, Inc., the parent organization of the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, where he was executive director. Previously, he was associate executive director at Bloomington’s Buskirk-Chumley Theater, where he focused on marketing, sponsorship, constituent relationship management, and annual giving. Originally from the Netherlands, Bout was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to study in the US and is an alumnus of IU Jacobs School of Music. He was also the recipient of ArtsMidwest's Future Leaders Award in 2010 and the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce's 10 under 40 Award.
